Basically, you just won by heart with that post. Politics is SO INTERESTING <3 And I agree, we're not normal teenagers with this, because normal ones don't are. But I'm so glad you do.
It's really upsetting that Hillary went from 'invincible' to third place in Iowa and an expected tie for second in New Hampshire. She even started crying today during one of her speeches. Of course, she says she will continue campaigning even if she doesn't win, but I don't know how that's going to work out. People put WAY too much stock into caucuses, because frankly, neither Iowa nor New Hampshire portray accurate snapshots of the average voting American. These states are hugely Caucasian (around 96% for both), not to mention relatively conservative Christian and rural. They also have lower incomes than some states, like New Jersey and Connecticut. Plus, they're populations are below 5,000,000, a very low percentage of our country. Let's face it, the BIG gun states (California, Florida, New York, Texas etc) are very diversified in the racial and religious departments and range from liberal California to conservative Texas. So I don't see why people care that much. What also surprises me is why they bother with Puerto Rico. They don't have a say in our president, so the only purpose I see is to look Hispanic-friendly.
My top choices for president (Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel) have been charting a lovely 0-2% on the polls, so they're gone. It's really sad, because they're the only ones who support total gay marriage and other sweeping reforms that our country needs. I've wanted Hillary to win since day one, but that doesn't seem to be working out. My second choice would be Barack Obama naturally, because it'd be nice to see a young and African-American person as the president. His messages for change are kinda believable, which is very good for a politician, and he has a moderate gay rights plan for civil-unions. The one thing I hate about all the Democratic candidates is how they're all anti-war in Iraq. Sure, I think it was the stupidest decision to make to invade that country, but now that we're in there, we should start treating it like a war. You know, start raising troop levels from bare minimum to satisfactory and actually win. Cause we really need to, unless we want to start a three-way civil war between the Shiites, the Sunnis and the Kurds. And there's gonna be Iranian intervention, which will ultimately end in America being harmed.
As for the Republicans, they're all worthless. Huckabee is a total redneck and hick who doesn't deserve an office for anything. The name screams hick. The rest of them are schmucks because they feel the need to deny people like me basic rights, like the guarantee of anti-discrimination laws and marriage. When you live in a country where most of the people and candidates for president want you to be discriminated against, you know there's an issue.
Anyways, that's my rambling for today
