I'm sorry, Trey, but Secondhand Serenade sucks. Every song of theirs is just terrible. It's like, "Let's take all this sappy stuff, and put it to slow music, and generally suck." I have no idea why anyone would have that goal in mind, but with Secondhand Serenade, I can't come to any other conclusion.

However, if you're looking for a really adorably sweet song, you needn't look any farther than "On Your Porch."

I couldn't find a video I was satisfied with on youtube, so I give it to you from my own personal library. Just listen. It's not necessarily romantic in the traditional sense, but it's so freaking cute. I love it. Love, love, love this song, even though I'm not diehard for The Format.

Also, your driver's test. I can't believe it's taken you six months to get your permit. It's actually extremely detrimental to you; you have less time practice on the road before you get your license. And I can't believe it took you three months to study for the test. I studied for half an hour and got a 96%. And that counts to get me my permit, too, even though my birthday isn't until September.

Anyway, I have my trip Thursday, so I'm busy cramming seven days of homework into three days. Which means I'm off.

Smells Like Sex and Candy.

So basically, that's the best title imaginable. I was watching VH1 this weekend and they were doing a countdown about the one-hit wonders, and this song "Sex and Candy" was on it. Worst song in existence, but the title is so funny.

Anyways.

I believe this Saturday I am taking the written part of the permit test (finally), so I'll be barely passing that. Last time I studied for about 3 months and got an 80 on a practice test in school! My expectations for this time around aren't very nice. With all luck, I'll have my permit in two weeks, much to Gracey's happiness, cause then I can drive her places, kinda. I rather take that chem midterm, Gracey, then the driving test. Like I really need to know the regulations for driving an 18 wheeler. When am I going to drive one?

In other news, I got my midterms back and I did a lot better than I thought I did. I thought I was going to get in the mid-90's (=[), but I ended up getting a 100, 99, and 98. YAY!

I found another beast song today, this time from an indie/scene band called Secondhand Serenade. The song is called "Fall For You" and it's basically the sweetest SONG EVER. For all those straight men and lesbians out there, best song to play to your gf. Ever.

I invite you to join in my fear. Chemistry Marking Period Final tomorrow.

Luckily, I soothe myself with the knowledge that this will be the hardest test of the year, as our lovely Doc does not write the official final. So that means that after tomorrow, there can be rejoicing!

Rejoice!

But not until tomorrow. Which means that today is a day full of fear and apprehension, which is not aided by no small amount of internal conflict. So for all of you out there who are not, in any way, a Science Brain, send me your luck.

Oh, God, do I need it.

In fact, I am writing this post while taking a break from studying periodic trends. Wanna know something? I don't give a damn. I really don't. Give me a question about English, sure, I'll give you a freaking textbook explanation. But I really don't care about electronegativities.

English Brains ftw!

It is because of this distaste for science (and math) that I am not taking physics next year. I'm taking AP Psychology. Which, for reasons unbeknownst to me, gives me history credits. Because I don't need those. Because the Fates are conspiring against me.

(Today is Gracey Rants About School Day, in case you were wondering. No wonder nobody reads us, Trey. I'm damn boring. And use bad words. Insulting their maiden's sensibilities, you know.)

On a brighter note, I get to go on the band trip Thursday! I got most of my packing done today, because the downside of going on the trip is that I have to do all of this coming weekend's homework this week, plus go to all the practices (my arms huuuuuurt) all without losing my mind.

But four days away from home, Trey! It's so exciting.

(Ooh, I just took an online practice quiz for Chemistry, and I got an 84%. Come on, B or better...)

Temporary Hiatus is Over!

So, I'm finally back from my little week-long break from this fine blog. BUT, I have an excuse, cause I had a few beastly midterms this week and I finally finished, so now I have free time! I basically studied 20,000 hours, so my brain is pretty dead. Atrophy of the brain tissue is going on as we speak.

So, while I was on a studying spree, I managed to discover a beastly new singer, second only to B. Spears, called Adele. She's a newbie in the music industry, hailing from England and her album is called 19. Her voice is amazing and her songs are awesome. I believe she had a free song on iTunes a few months ago called "Hometown Glory." My favorite song is Chasing Pavements, which coincidently, has a really cool music video:

Ah, the infamous Jesus play. So epic and well-loved. I myself have been in the Jesus play. Guess who I played?

So, it's April. I'm sort of wondering if any of you people are participating in ScriptFrenzy. What is ScriptFrenzy, you ask? It's the April NaNoWriMo event, where particpants write 100 pages of script (for screen or stage) during the month of April. You enter your words into the word counter, and if you win, the ScriptFrenzy orginization gives you a certificate. Yay.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to participate this year, due to approximately 150 pages for school due in the first two weeks of May. I'll have a busy April. Which is disappointing, because I was planning on adapting something I'd already written, and through that edit said prose, and perhaps have an easier time of things. But as it remains, I have to turn my words elsewhere.

Fear not, Trey. I shan't abandon you here. We're aiming for breaking January's record, remember?

I've also come to the conclusion, Trey, that we shouldn't have to precisely alternate posts. If we've got something to say, it should be said. Sometimes I have legitimate concerns to rant about, and have to sit around waiting, because I've posted the day before, or some other nonsense. And then I forget.

Short attention span for the win, Trey. For the win.

Also, the best thing ever, Trey--our library allows you to, via internet, take out books on tape. It PWNS. Seriously, my favorite thing ever. Right now, I'm listening to Pride and Prejudice (♥), and delighting in it.

Better?

I happen to like all-capital titles because it sounds dramatic. Very nice montage, though it makes me wonder why people find entertainment in seeing a tractor driving by. I wish I had hats!

So, maybe we can beat the 25 record for January! Hopefully I have enough topics to talk about or prate about. So, does anyone know what gel electrophoresis is besides me? Or has done it before? I would like to think that a regular school's biology course is not THAT inadequate.

I'd like to announce that I have been picked by the local Catholic Church to direct a play about the birth of Jesus this year during Vacation Bible School! It stars a bunch of lovely 2nd graders as well. I feel very special, seeing as I'm an Atheist and I beat out all the Catholics. Stupid service hours for NHS.

When I was looking back at our videos before, so I could upload the montage, in "Related Videos" there were about three by vlogbrothers.

It was oddly pleasing to be a sideshow to odd internet fame.

Also, if you will note, Trey, we had a massively awesome streak going in January--25 posts in a month. Care to beat it for April?

Watch Your Caps, Boy.

Trey, that's two posts in a row where your title has been in all caps. Watch yourself, or you'll leave the realm of exuberant for the land of tacky.

And nobody likes the land of tacky.

Similar to the land of tacky is Florida (deepest apologies to all Floridians), where there are FAR TOO MANY things that are made out of fake oranges. I mean, come on. Oranges shouldn't be used to decorate things. They just shouldn't.

Anyway, I am now home, a little worse for the wear, a little terrified of the sun (photophobia ftw) again, but with a video to put together for y'all's enjoyment.

(Who says it wasn't a productive vacation? I learned a new language: southern!)

(Again, not trying to be offensive. It's just that there's different words used in different ways. Like "y'all's" and "up the road apiece." It's fact.)

Anyway, since I live in a family of crazies, my mother made us go to a rodeo. A RODEO. Sweetfreakinglord.
